Indian Literature.

.The indian culture grow up .isolated,between the himalaia and indic ocean.Their first tales get Herodoto in Greece,and the Bizantines.THeir great texts was write in Sanscrit,language redescovered in XIX century by Europeans.Great books in  Sanscrit:

1.Vedas-About a thousand years before Christ.Came from oral tradition.And like others of the period,have a stong religious view.Have Mantras(magic Words),prays,hymns,and on.

2.Mahanbarata-Epopey-Huge epic poem.Get many books,Century IV BC.Narrative from Vyada to scribe Ganesha.Featured:Bhagavad gita(song of God),most important religious text.Where god Krishna talk with the warrior Ajurna.Topics.Tri-varga:Kama-sensorial,Artha-economic;Dharma-moral rules.The goal is Moksha,be out of Samsora,the cicle of death and birth.

3.Ramayana-Rama´s trip.About 500 BC.Poetry Valmiki tell the adventures of Rama.Syncretism and religious are very strong in any of the thousand dialects there.We may refer to the Budist Poems ,BC,religious ,of Course.Or the old tales from sanscrit oral tradition,BC.

*Special reference:Kama-Sutra.Kama-Literature about desire and Sutra -speech with aphorisms.In short words,about the art of love and human sexual behavior.In west,many people consider in a wrong way this book,as a sexual guide.Author:Vatsyayana,IV Century.

There are poems and novels in Urdu,Bengali and Rajistani.II-XVIII Century.

India was under the British control abot 400 years ,and many British collect facts or translate tales to Europe.Examples:Richard Burton,Rudyard Kipling.We must consider the indian in English Language:
